Longevity: Practical Competence & Capacity Across the Adult Lifespan

In this course, we will be discussing the“components of aging.” We will look at the ways different systems in the body changeover time, what we can do to help our clients cope with those changes, and how to help them maintain or reclaim their active lifestyles regardless of their age. We will specifically be covering hormonal changes over the lifespan, recovery ability, tissue changes with age, system changes, and inefficiencies such as with balance, sensation, and coordination. We will also cover cognitive changes, age and sedentarism, the importance of social interaction, and age-specific competency and capacity testing.

By the end of this course, you will have a broader population of people you will be well-equipped to help. You’ll be able to assess these new clients for age-related changes and vulnerabilities, set meaningful age-appropriate goals with them, and help them safely and efficiently achieve those goals.
